The future looks bright, the future looks sporty.

Wow. What lovely weather to compliment such a hectic day in sports week!

EYFS practiced dribbling and passing skills on the football field. It was great to see so much progression during the 30 minute session. The future looks bright for Richard Whittington’s sports teams.

Reception journeyed to the brilliant Stortford Gymnastics, where they immersed themselves in a wide range of Gymnastics. What gifted children we have!

Year 1/2 also had some football sessions and were weaving in and out of cones like professionals! Their knowledge was then tested in a Sports Quiz where they also had to develop a group celebration – some football teams would be put to shame by our pupils!

Year 3/4 had an amazing time at the Harlow Outdoor Centre diving into what can only be described as an Olympic-sized challenge. A huge thanks for the parent helpers who gave up their own time to accompany staff and pupils – it is greatly appreciated and no doubt they enjoyed it as much as the children.

Year 5/6 had an especially creative day, innovating sport inspired art that depicts movement and creating their own healthy meal judged on presentation and originality. They were also visited by sensei Shauna who ran a very hands-on masterclass in self-defence.

The children will start the final day of Sports Week with Boot Camp, a chance for pupils to rehearse their dance and add the finishing touches to their house art, concluding with their collaborative house performances and various awards from staff at the closing ceremony. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for glorious weather.
